Arts for a Better World believes it is very important to build the young generations' awareness on the importance of protecting the Earth, the ecosystem, the universe and all of its inhabitants through a different form of media: Art.
Children will be invited by our activity leaders to discover, through imaginative work created by the talented artists, the better world values which they will hopefully preserve throughout their lives and be able to educate others for the future.
Some examples of the workshops we will propose for adults and children:
Cultivated Area: the children will be given a terra-cotta pot that they will be able paint to show off their artistic talents. Once painted, they will all be given the opportunity to plant a seed inside.
462 pounds sustainable piece of art: Arts for a Better World will be hosting the creation of a spectacular piece of sustainable art, in partnership with Rethink & Reuse Miami: An average American family is considered to be 3.2 persons. An individual generates approximately 4.6 pounds per day of trash, which amounts to 441.60 pounds of trash per month per family!
We will set up 441.60 pounds of reusable materials in the reserved area for this workshop, symbolizing a family's monthly trash, on day 1.
We will then invite kids (and their parents) to participate in creating a sustainable piece of art, thanks to the assistance of several artists. Each participant will then be invited to sign on site and on the web this unique piece of art.
A Better World For our Children: the children will be invited to be photographed together with friends from all around the world. We will also encourage them to "go virtual" and start a worldwide chain on the web, with Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc...
The Painting for the Earth: Everybody will add a piece of themselves to create a huge artistic fresco with painted or recycled items.
To be announced...
